Brazil Events 2026 — dates, venues & tickets

Brazilian events are enormous, regional and mostly free at street level. Carnival is the obvious anchor, but each region — Bahia, Pernambuco, Rio, São Paulo — celebrates it in a genuinely different way.

Planning notes for Brazil

Book domestic flights and accommodation for Carnival four to six months ahead. Carry a local card or Pix-enabled account rather than cash, keep valuables minimal in crowds, and expect events to start much later in the evening than in Europe.

Upcoming events in Brazil

Listed in date order. Prices are the organiser's published starting rates and change between release tiers — always confirm on the official ticket or RSVP page before booking flights or accommodation.

Buying an abadá gets you inside a roped-off block with security and toilets. Free 'pipoca' is more authentic but demands real crowd awareness.

This is Brazil's second-biggest celebration and far less touristed than Carnival. Campina Grande calls itself the largest São João in the world for good reason.

Before you book

Check your visa conditions

Attending events is fine on almost any status, but paid work at one — including stewarding, bar shifts or paid performance — is not always permitted on a visitor or study permit. If an event is also a work opportunity, confirm your right-to-work conditions first.

Buy from the organiser

Every link on this page points to the official organiser, venue or tourism authority. Resale platforms routinely list tickets that the organiser will refuse at the gate, particularly for named-ticket events like marathons and Grand Slam tennis.
